Kesarganj district hospital opens free dialysis unit with 12 beds

Patients who travelled 90 km to the nearest city for dialysis can now be treated close to home. The unit will run two shifts a day.

Kesarganj district hospital has opened a 12-bed dialysis unit, sparing patients with kidney failure a 90-kilometre trip to the nearest city two or three times a week.

The unit will run two shifts a day, six days a week, and can treat up to 48 patients. Treatment is free for patients registered with the hospital, including the consumables, hospital officials said.
