Photo-based crop disease app trained on 2 lakh leaf images expands to 12 crops
Farmers photograph a leaf and get a likely diagnosis in under 10 seconds, with advice reviewed by agronomists. Developers say the app flags when it is unsure.
A crop disease detection app that lets farmers photograph a leaf and receive a likely diagnosis within seconds has expanded from five crops to twelve, its developers at the startup Patta Labs said this week.
The app's model was trained on about 2 lakh labelled leaf images, collected with farmer producer companies and agricultural colleges. It now covers crops including tomato, chilli, cotton, soybean, paddy and grapes.
